Mom's 60th Birthday

My mom's 60th birthday was last week and my mom wanted to have a small get together with our family. Naturally I wanted to do something special for her. After all it is her big 6-0! For food we made discada tacos per request of the birthday girl and some charro beans of coarse. Of coarse I took charge of the cake because I am the appointed cake girl lol.

My friend Vanessa and I actually just started our own business, SunCity Effect, in event planning and I take advantage of every event possible to practice and get some good pictures! I decided to continue with the Mexican theme for my moms party and made a simple naked floral cake with a special cake topper. I decided to make a small white and gold balloon arch which have been my obsession lately.

I made a mini dessert table that included my moms favorite pan dulce, conchas. I wanted an easy grab n go dessert as well so I made a huge batch of arroz con leche and served it in mini shooters and they were a huge hit! I kept this layout simple yet very special for my mom and she loved it all!

This party was a success! I am very excited to start our journey as event planner because I really feel like this is my calling! Follow us along on our journey and maybe we can plan your next event!
